THE PLIGHT
Television and film writers (any writer I'll add) writes from sun-up to sundown. We write sitting. We write standing. We write on paper. We write with pens. We write on touchpads. We edit with pencils. We write in our head. We laugh to ourselves. We write in the shower or over dinner. We write because we must that's all we know to do. We write when we hate it, waiting for the love. We write when we love it until the pain comes. We write our dreams. We write our fears. We write our lives. We plan to write until we die. We are addicts...
The saddest part of writing for TV/film means that our material will never ever get read. It will sit on a producers shelf collecting dust as if in eternal rest. As if words sleep, puck that I want mine to live. I write this blog as not really a blog but as a way to give my scripts away. If read by only one single soul, then all the months or years or however long is somehow paid off.
Please leave your comments or feel free to contact me, Lorna O. I want to hear your thoughts. I realize many people aren't familiar with script format, but you might find that it's a faster read. Plus, it's pretty cool to check out something different and generally not written for public consumption.
